Position: Kitchen Steward / Porter

Overview

A range of quality own-brand and high street restaurants and cafés, mixed with great food, family-friendly menus, and excellent service. Our Food and Beverage department supports around 350 team members across nine restaurants, cafés, and bars, plus a production kitchen, and five concessionary units including Bella Italia and Café Rouge. From American grills to authentic Indian cuisine, there’s something to suit all appetites at Center Parcs.

£12.37 per hour plus tips

All colleagues working in the following restaurants:
Rajinda Pradesh, Huck s American Bar and Grill, The Pancake House, Sports Café, The Lakeside Inn, Foresters  Inn and Vitalé Café Bar will benefit from the discretionary service charge we add to bills. The majority of our guests reward our colleagues for their excellent service.

As a Kitchen Steward / Porter, you will be responsible for assisting the Kitchen Team dispose of kitchen waste and deep cleaning of the kitchen and wash up areas. Responsibilities include maintaining a high standard of hygiene and safety in the kitchen, carrying out cleaning duties as specified by the Kitchen Manager such as sweeping and mopping floors and operating pot-washing machinery.

Requirements
  • Be able to work under pressure
  • Have the ability to work on their own or as part of a team
  • Have good communication skills
  • Adhere to company COSHH regulations and ISO standards at all times

Please note that to apply for a role with us, you must be able to reliably commute to Center Parcs Whinfell Forest (CA10 2DW
) as it is not easily accessible by public transport. If you plan to use public transport, plan your journey accordingly.

Hours of Work

Working straight shifts, you will be contracted to work 150 hours per 4-week period on a flexible basis. This means that your days and hours of work could vary each week, but you will always receive at least your contracted hours each period. As our village is open 365 days of the year, your working hours will include public/bank holidays and during Christmas and/or New Year on a rota basis.

Desirable requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Kitchen Steward / Porter
  • Ability to work in an organised manner and remain calm under pressure
