Position: Assistant Store Manager - 32 Hour Temporary Contract

Assistant Store Manager – 32 Hour Temporary Contract at Seasalt in Penryn offers a great stepping‑stone in a successful retail career.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Store Manager in creating a service culture that puts the customer at the heart of everything
  • Enable the store team to recommend additional services and add‑on purchases through omni‑channel selling and customer data insights
  • Support the Store Manager with recruitment and help build a diverse, passionate team
  • Act as a role model, drive store sales, profitability, and consistent KPI achievement, and understand what is required to drive performance
  • Coach and develop the team through regular 1‑1s, development plans, and performance feedback
  • Communicate store performance to the team and key stakeholders, highlighting risks and opportunities
  • Implement visual merchandising and windows standards, utilising product, category, and bestseller information to maximise commercial opportunities
  • Manage store operations: stock, loss prevention, incident reporting, health & safety, GDPR, cash handling, key‑holder responsibilities, and store safety standards
  • Act as the sole manager of the store when required
Qualifications

Previous experience in leading a team at supervisory level or above, preferably in retail or a similar environment, with a proven record of KPI achievement and budget management. Strong communication and commercial skills, a passion for coaching and developing teams, and a willingness to share creative ideas to achieve results are essential.
