This Support Worker
- Penryn, Cornwall post sits with RGB at a supported housing service, helping adults who have complex needs. Pay is £15.34 per hour across 37 weekly hours, offered as a 12-week temporary contract that may turn permanent, starting 26th October 2026. Shifts span five days on a rolling rota, Monday to Sunday, 8am-9pm, and a DBS check is needed. Duties cover person-centred assistance, writing and reviewing support plans, risk assessment, and encouraging independence plus community involvement.

Applicants should show empathy, sound communication, and the ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly. Reliable record-keeping and teamwork matter too.

We are recruiting for a Support Worker to join a supported housing service in Penryn, working with adults with complex needs. This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll provide person-centred support, helping individuals build confidence, maintain independence and achieve positive outcomes.

The Role
  • Provide tailored support to adults with complex needs
  • Develop and maintain support plans
  • Complete risk assessments and risk management
  • Encourage independence and community engagement
  • Support access to social, educational and employment opportunities
  • Maintain accurate records and case notes
  • Work closely with colleagues and external agencies
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety procedures
  • Undertake lone working as required
About You
  • Has experience within support work, supported housing, homelessness or complex needs
  • Understands support planning and risk management
  • Can build rapport while maintaining professional boundaries
  • Is confident working independently
  • Is resilient, adaptable and comfortable working under pressure
  • Has good IT and record-keeping skills
  • Can work flexibly across the rota, including weekends and bank holidays
