Subsidiary Accountant

Pen Air Credit Union is seeking a dedicated and detail‑oriented Subsidiary Accountant I to support the full spectrum of accounting operations for our growing subsidiary portfolio. In this role, you’ll help ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency across financial activities while supporting a mission‑driven organization that cares deeply about people and community impact.

You’ll be an essential partner in maintaining reliable financial data, strengthening our reporting processes, and supporting the successful integration and operations of new subsidiaries as we expand.

• Perform daily accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, reconciliations, and expense processing
• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles to ensure timely and accurate financial statements
• Assist in consolidating subsidiary financials into parent company reporting
• Conduct research and analysis to identify variances, ensure accuracy, and support decision‑making
• Prepare clear supporting documentation for internal stakeholders and auditors
• Collaborate with teams across the organization to help integrate new subsidiaries and maintain strong financial practices

• An accounting professional with 3–5 years of related experience
• Knowledgeable in GAAP, with strong analytical and organizational skills
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• A clear communicator who can explain financial information in a practical, straightforward way
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; prior experience with Workday is a plus
• Someone who values teamwork, consistency, and contributing to meaningful work
