Pay Range: $48,921.60-$56,872.40 annually, depending on knowledge and experience.
This position is only open to employees of the City of Pensacola IT Department.

Education and Experience:
- Associates Degree in computer science, digital radio-television-filmmaking, web design, or related field;
- Or two (2) years of demonstrated experience in film, television, or audio/visual (A/V) operations, or two (2) years of web and graphic design, development, and content management;
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licenses or
Certifications:
- Possession of an appropriate driver’s license for equipment operated and any license, training, or certification required by law or regulation to complete assigned tasks.

The Digital Media Technician performs professional work in Audio/Visual (A/V) Operations, video production, web design, and development supporting the mission, vision, and goals of the City of Pensacola. Responsibilities include the setup and operation of audio/video equipment and components including microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, recording equipment, sound, and mixing boards along with web operations including the planning, developing, managing, and maintaining of the City’s websites, digital, mobile, and online resources.
This position reports to the Assistant Technology Resources Manager, having performance assessed by the results obtained?.
- Installs, adjusts, and operates electronic equipment to record, edit, and transmit radio and television programs, motion pictures, video conferencing, or multimedia presentations.
- Diagnoses and resolves media system problems.
- Creates, recommends, and maintains guidelines for the format and display of the City’s Internet and Intranet.
- Assists in the design, development, testing, and publishing of new webpages and ensures all pages are up-to-date, functional, and effective.
- Renews content of the web as needed, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of information presented.
- Maintains and reports web usage and access statistics.
- Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and fixes Audio-visual equipment throughout the city.
- Provides physical or digital copies of meetings to those that request them.
- Assists with press conferences.
- Records and documents various meetings for the City.
- Installs new equipment such as running cables through the walls and ceiling and mounting and replacing cameras

Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods to include alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media.
- Knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control, and operation of telecommunications systems.
- Knowledge of video creation and editing software such as Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, Apple Final Cut Pro, iMovie, and/or Corel Ulead DVD Workshop.
- Knowledge of image editing application programs such as Adobe Photoshop, and other illustration and layout programs.
- Knowledge of various web management and audio-visual software types to include web page creation and editing, graphics, photo imaging, spreadsheet, and video creation and editing.
- Ability to plan, organize, problem-solve, and manage time.
- Ability to use the Internet to find resources used in troubleshooting, web development, and new technologies.
