Position Title: Jr. Instructional Designer

Position Status: Contract to Hire

Pay Rate: $20 - $26 per hour

Position Description

We are seeking a skilled and creative Instructional Designer to develop impactful learning experiences that drive performance across the organization. This role focuses on designing high-quality curricula, eLearning modules, and blended learning solutions using modern instructional design methodologies and tools.

The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with Articulate Storyline, Rise, eLearning design, adult learning theory, ADDIE/SAM frameworks, and can translate complex information into engaging educational content. You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, conduct needs assessments, evaluate training effectiveness, and support the lifecycle of instructional products from concept to deployment.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and update instructional materials, eLearning modules, and blended learning programs aligned with adult learning principles.
  • Conduct needs assessments and partner with business stakeholders to define learning objectives and training requirements.
  • Develop content for classroom, virtual (VILT), and self‑paced learning environments.
  • Create LMS learning activities, build course assignments, and generate custom LMS reports.
  • Produce dynamic, visually compelling instructional assets such as graphics, simulations, training games, and multimedia elements.
  • Evaluate course effectiveness using data and feedback; implement improvements to optimize learning outcomes.
  • Select and implement appropriate instructional design models, tools, and delivery methods.
  • Provide guidance to trainers, SMEs, and team members on instructional strategies and best practices.
  • Present learning solutions and project updates to various audiences, including leadership.
  • Support multiple instructional design projects with varying complexity and deliverables.
  • Perform additional duties as required in support of organizational learning initiatives.
Required Skills/Education
  • 2–4 years of instructional design or curriculum development experience, or equivalent education.
  • Advanced knowledge of Instructional Design Processes (ADDIE, SAM) and Adult Learning Theory.
  • Proficiency with Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, and eLearning authoring tools.
  • Experience converting instructor‑led training to self‑paced digital content.
  • Strong visual design, content development, and multimedia creation skills.
  • Ability to evaluate training effectiveness and apply data‑driven improvements.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to organize, compile, and present information clearly and concisely.
  • Experience developing courses for products, processes, and/or technical skills.
  • Proficiency with presentation, word processing, spreadsheet, and database tools.
  • Strong collaboration skills with internal and external technical or functional partners.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to engage all levels of the organization.
  • Adaptability to fluctuating workloads and multiple, concurrent project priorities.
  • Ability to facilitate and support ILT/VILT delivery teams.
