• Graduation from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education with a master’s degree in English or a closely related field.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check.

Employment eligibility requirement:
Must meet the requirements of Florida Statutes §435.04(2) related to background investigations. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate. Any person failing to disclose adverse information will be disqualified from employment.

• Ph.D. in literature, composition, or rhetoric.
• Post‑secondary teaching experience.
• Synchronous and asynchronous online teaching experience.

• $42,250–$48,250 for a 9‑month contract with a master’s degree.
• $47,000–$53,000 for a 9‑month contract with a doctoral degree.

Faculty members hired with less than three years of related experience will be placed on the following salary schedule:

• Master’s – $42,250
• Master’s Plus – $44,000
• Doctorate – $47,000

All degree classification levels add the appropriate dollars (up to $6,000) for years of credited experience to the annual salary figures above to determine entry salary.
