Job DescriptionPosition Summary: The Psychology Instructor position is a 9‑month, tenure‑track faculty position with an anticipated start date of August 2026. The successful candidate will teach general psychology and other psychology‑related courses as assigned. Responsibilities include preparing course plans and materials, delivering subject matter content, monitoring student attendance and progress, participating in curriculum development, supporting retention activities, selecting textbooks, assessing student learning outcomes, serving on department and college‑wide committees, and engaging in service and professional development activities as appropriate.
Multiple campus, day, evening, and distance‑learning teaching assignments are possible. This position reports to the Department Head, Humanities and Social Sciences.
- Prepare course plans and materials.
- Effectively deliver subject matter content.
- Monitor student attendance and progress.
- Participate in curriculum development.
- Support initiatives that foster student retention.
- Participate in the selection of textbooks.
- Assess student learning outcomes.
- Serve on department and college‑wide committees.
- Engage in other service and professional development activities as appropriate.
- Graduation from an institution that holds accreditation recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and approved by the College with a master’s degree in psychology or an equivalent field.
- A successful background check result is required.
- Compliance with Florida Statutes 435.04(2) related to background investigations.
- Graduation from an institution that holds accreditation recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and approved by the College with a doctoral degree in psychology.
- Post‑secondary teaching experience.
- Experience teaching distance‑learning courses.
$42,250–$48,250 for a 9‑month contract with a master’s degree.
$47,000–$53,000 for a 9‑month contract with a doctoral degree.

Pay DetailsFaculty members hired with less than three years of related experience shall be placed on the salary schedule as follows (2025‑2026):
- Master's – $42,250
- Doctorate – $47,000
- Additional experience adds up to $6,000 to the entry salary.
