The BIM (Building Information Modeling) Coordinator will play a key role in the design, planning, and execution of mechanical systems for construction projects. The BIM Coordinator will oversee and manage the creation, development, and maintenance of 3D models. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, advanced BIM software proficiency, and collaboration with project teams. The candidate will participate in developing and maintaining company standard details.
Key Responsibilities- BIM Management and Coordination:
Lead development and coordination of 3D mechanical models, ensure compliance with project and company requirements; manage and maintain BIM files and libraries; coordinate with project managers and engineers to reflect design information in the BIM model. - Project Documentation:
Generate and maintain as-built documentation and 2D drawings from BIM models; prepare models for fabrication with detailed mechanical layouts; ensure models meet standards for quality, accuracy, and timeliness. - Collaboration and Communication:
Work with project managers, superintendents, foremen, and clients to implement designs; provide preliminary project details to clients; resolve technical issues and align milestones; attend coordination meetings to integrate disciplines. - Software Proficiency and Technical Support:
Maintain proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks, and other BIM tools; improve BIM processes and workflows. - Compliance and Standards:
Adhere to codes, standards, and best practices; maintain company BIM standards and protocols across projects.

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in BIM coordination within mechanical or construction industries.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks, and other BIM software.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC, piping, and ductwork.
- Knowledge of mechanical construction processes and project lifecycle.
- Experience with clash detection, coordination, and resolution techniques.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- BIM certifications (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional in Revit) or equivalent.
- Familiarity with fabrication and detailing processes for mechanical systems.
- Experience with cloud-based collaboration platforms (e.g., BIM 360).
- Experience on large-scale commercial or industrial projects.
