Waggoner Engineering, Inc. is hiring a skilled Senior Project Engineer/Project Manager – Civil/Municipal in Pensacola, FL. This Project Engineer will provide quality planning, design, technical assistance, and project management to the Discipline Manager and other members of the design team in delivering projects within budgetary and time constraints.

Your Primary Responsibilities- Perform engineering analyses and evaluations (primarily computer‑based) in support of the planning and design of civil works projects, including water distribution system and sanitary sewer collection system hydraulic modeling; pump station modeling and analysis for well pumps, sewer system lift stations, and transmission pumping stations; analysis and evaluation of treatment options for potable water and wastewater plants; analysis and evaluation of water and sewer rate structures;
and planning, assessments and recommendations related to the need for public water and wastewater facilities. - Perform analysis and design of water distribution systems; water supply and treatment components; sanitary sewer systems and components; transmission, treatment and disposal systems; POTWs and other projects.
- Support hydrologic analysis and hydraulic modeling – multi‑dimensional.
- Design stormwater management facilities for roadway drainage, site drainage, retention/detention, and other projects.
- Conduct assessment and evaluation of existing system conditions and develop recommended remedial measures.
- Maintain and document written and verbal communications with clients throughout the development and completion of a project.
- Conduct project status reviews with project manager and team members, checking accuracy of work completed and monitoring timeliness of project completion.
- Attend meetings on project management.
- Assist Project Managers with administrative duties concerning completion of assigned projects, including review of schedules, scopes and budgets.
- Assist in preparation of engineering studies and reports.
- Provide technical guidance and training to members of the project team.
- Prepare project design using sound engineering principles, engineering software and tools.
- Assist in preparation of contract documents and technical specifications.
- Assist Project Manager in assuring quality control procedures are performed.
- Maintain responsibility for the accuracy of each segment of the work and the final check of the work.
- Maintain responsibility for adherence to applicable codes.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to engineering staff.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering. - Experience: 10+ years of related design experience; knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations required. Three to four years of coordination/supervisory experience preferred.
- Certifications/Registrations: License as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Florida required. Certifications applicable to civil engineering, water and/or wastewater plant operations desired.
- Other Knowledge and Skills: Proficient in design using AutoCAD Civil 3D, Micro Station, ESRI, HEC‑RAS and ADICPR products. Advanced knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project required. Knowledge of design, online reports and databases preferred. Understanding of and experience in the application of sustainability principles in public infrastructure. Knowledge and ability to use (or learn) Deltek Financial and Project Management system is required.
