Role Overview

Join a leading chemical manufacturing facility in Pensacola as an Electrical Reliability Engineer where you’ll serve as the site subject matter expert for electrical engineering, responsible for the design and reliability of electrical distribution systems and critical assets including turbo generators, substations, transformers, switchgears, protection relays, emergency generators, motors, VFDs, UPS and battery backup systems. Develop reliability strategies for low, medium, and high voltage electrical equipment while maintaining a high level of electrical system reliability that impacts site safety and production targets.

Lead preventive and predictive maintenance programs, own asset care strategies to improve MTBF and lower maintenance costs, and support continuous improvement objectives. This role offers excellent upward mobility with a well‑established manufacturing leader, where you’ll develop maintenance work scopes for plant turnarounds, lead failure analysis investigations, and partner with subject matter experts across the company to champion long‑term maintenance and reliability improvements.

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in low, medium, and high voltage hardware and distribution systems maintenance & reliability in a manufacturing setting
  • Knowledgeable in engineering studies including load flow, arc flash, surge suppression, and relay coordination
  • Experience with ground grid design, transformer sizing, conductor and cable sizing
  • Experience reviewing and approving electrical specifications, drawings, and technical documentation
  • Proven track record in development and implementation of maintenance and reliability programs
  • Able to provide design support in engineering standards: NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI
  • Working knowledge of electrical equipment application, installation, and grounding standards
  • Strong understanding of maintenance and reliability work processes
  • Knowledge and experience with preventive and predictive maintenance practices
  • Experience leading formal Root Cause Analysis investigations
  • Working knowledge of Process Hazard Analysis and Management of Change processes
  • Working knowledge of SAP and strong computer skills
  • Excellent communication, technical writing, and presentation skills
