Wastewater Project Engineer

Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Wastewater Project Engineer for our PENSACOLA office. As part of our design and process teams, you will be involved with a wide range of wastewater infrastructure projects. This will encompass all phases of design, including conceptual/feasibility evaluations, project management, preparation of design reports, permitting, development of construction drawings and specifications, and support of construction services.

• Support the development of technical treatment strategies, selection of treatment processes, development of process design criteria, and delivery of projects.
• Support coordination and collaboration with clients.
• Coordinate with internal technical specialists in all practice areas and discipline design professionals for project delivery.
• Support planning, design, permitting, and construction of wastewater‑related projects.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to effectively meet client needs.
• Support preparation of proposals and presentations.
• Fieldwork and site visits from planning through construction may be required, with occasional travel.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• PE license.
• 5‑12 years of experience in wastewater‑related infrastructure, including project engineering/management (planning, design, and construction).
• Successful delivery of multi‑year projects in collaborative, multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to interact effectively with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies.
• Self‑starter with attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to present complex issues to non‑technical audiences.

• Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctorate) in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
