Sr Structural Engineer (Data Centers)

Job OverviewAs a Senior Structural Engineer on our Advanced Manufacturing team, you will lead structural design and analysis for data center projects, including new builds, retrofits, colocations, and other capital projects. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, coordinate designs across domestic and international Jacobs offices, and grow your technical expertise while expanding leadership responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Perform a variety of structural analysis tasks.
- Create computer models of structural systems.
- Conduct member and foundation design calculations, prepare material take‑offs for estimating, and develop miscellaneous calculations.
- Assist with project scheduling and coordinate design activities with other engineering disciplines.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- 8 or more years of professional structural engineering experience.
- Registered Professional Engineer in at least one state, with capability to become registered in additional states.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Micro Station, and S3D.
- Proficiency with structural analysis software such as RISA or STAAD.
- Knowledge and application of ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, AIST Technical Report 13, and other relevant design codes.
- Knowledge and application of building codes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (including Teams for remote coordination).
- Ability to travel to client sites (approximately 10 %–20 % travel).
- Master of Science in Engineering.
- Experience with industrial metals projects, including casting and rolling operations or similar heavy‑industrial projects.
- Ability to lead teams and deliver commitments on schedule and on budget while meeting quality and client expectations.
