The estimated base salary range for this role is "$85,000 to $100,000" per year. Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience and other relevant factors.

Reporting to the EHS Manager
, the Environmental Specialist will be responsible for leading environmental compliance and driving key sustainability initiatives in the manufacturing setting. As a direct report to the EHS Manager, this team member also plays a key role in contributing to Safety compliance and risk reduction. Additionally, the Environmental Specialist must adhere to our guiding principles of integrity, commitment, and excellence.

What will you do?

  • Serve as primary point of contact and SME for environmental concerns; provide immediate regulatory guidance for a 24/7 manufacturing operation
  • Prepare and submit regulatory filings required by local, state, and federal agencies including EPA and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection
  • Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with Corporate EHS staff, contract consultants, and regulatory agencies
  • Ensure site maintains environmental compliance with all permits and reporting requirements (Air, Water, Waste) including management of Title V Air Permit, NPDES Storm Water Permit, RCRA Waste Management, ECUA, and Escambia County. Examples are Tier II Reporting, TRI, GHG, Annual Air Operating Report & Emissions Fee, Semi-Annual Monitoring Reports, etc.
  • Establish sustainable processes in conjunction with Operations
  • Complete internal reporting requirements in a timely manner
  • Support the EHS Team with 20% Safety support function; serve as back-up for EHS Manager
  • Attend daily site meetings to present Environmental data and request resources as needed
  • Establish and maintain regulatory files in accordance with corporate guidelines
  • Produce effective routine plant communication, training, and weekly inspections.
  • Identify and execute Environmental and Sustainability improvement opportunities.

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. in Environmental Engineering (or related) field
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting
  • 3+ years of environmental reporting experience
