I and C Engineer - Entry Level (Data Centers)
Join us as an Entry-Level Instrumentation and Controls Engineer at Jacobs.
Base pay range$58,656.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr
Responsibilities- Accountable for the schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks, while gaining familiarity with the client’s expectations, scope, budget, and schedule.
- Provide on‑site assistance during startup, coordinate work activities with other staff members, and collaborate with the discipline lead.
- Help design and optimize control systems for a variety of processes, working closely with architects, engineers, and designers to deliver complete, world‑class solutions for new facilities.
- Develop P&IDs, size valves, specify instrumentation, and document and model design information while ensuring compliance with building codes and industry standards.
- Produce control system designs and develop options and optimizations for all aspects of process control, instrumentation, and automation.
- Associate’s or Engineering Tech degree in Mechanical, Control Systems, or Electrical Engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Control Systems, or Electrical Engineering (ideal).
- Working knowledge of Revit software preferred.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification (ideal).
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas.
- Displayed ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base.
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Passion for buildings and construction.
- Prior experience with DDC and PLC based control systems.
- Experience with Data Center design or operations.
