Job Overview

We are looking for a proactive planner who excels at organizing complex projects, aligning resources, and ensuring projects move with precision. As Planner II, you will play a key role in shaping the success of each aircraft maintenance project—reviewing work packages, forecasting labor needs, coordinating schedules across multiple departments, and maintaining accurate records. You will partner closely with Program and Project Managers, support critical decision‑making, and drive efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement.

This is a great next step for those ready to deepen their expertise in aircraft maintenance planning and become a trusted operational leader.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review incoming work packages and establish the required labor.
  • Manage the work processes, track project performance, and coordinate with the planning staff.
  • Maintain a record of events affecting the project and create/maintain a database for efficient project running.
  • Assist and coordinate with the Program Manager, Project Manager, and Manager Planning to achieve desired work quality and performance within contracted downtime.
  • Schedule work by coordinating the requirements of each trade/department.
  • Project labor requirements by trade to accomplish work within the target schedule and establish methods to track progress and performance. Update data for in‑house software monitoring.
  • Establish proper work procedures based on customer requirements and ensure planning and production staff follow them.
  • Administer contract terms by interpreting work contents, negotiating O & A items, pricing, budgeting of man‑hours, estimations, and maintaining statistics.
  • Coordinate with the Customer and Production for timely man‑hour approvals on O & A work.
  • Maintain a record of significant events or decisions affecting the schedule (e.g., changes in procedures, customer requests, major findings).
  • Review and maintain records of changes in work scope throughout the project.
  • Compile program data on man‑hour, cost vs. sold, redelivery status, and other pertinent data for internal use and customer presentations.
  • Assist in compiling daily status reports with the Program / Project Manager for customers and internal use.
  • Suggest and implement continuous improvements to processes where applicable.
Job Specifications

Good working knowledge or the ability to acquire skills in the following:

  • Excellent oral and written communication, ability to present ideas and give instructions to staff and external agencies.
  • Adept at motivating and leading a team to achieve higher productivity and quality.
  • Strong delegation, prioritization, creative, and persuasive skills.
  • Knowledge of computer‑based planning systems and aircraft maintenance programs.
  • Technical knowledge of transport‑category aircraft.
  • Proficient in FARs, company policies, aircraft manuals, and related maintenance documentation.
  • Proactive in seeking continuous improvements to processes and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or equivalent experience preferred.

  • Airmen training certificate or related A&P certification preferred.
  • Commercial aircraft experience preferred.
  • Comfortable user of Microsoft Excel.
  • Capabilities in Power BI and Macros preferred.
Compensation & Benefits

In addition to competitive pay, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes Medical, Vision, Dental, 401(k) with employer match, PTO, company‑provided uniforms, 6 nationally recognized holidays, Short‑Term and Long‑Term Disability Insurance, Life Insurance, and company‑sponsored events throughout the year.
