Engineering - Technician

Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for an Engineering - Technician with a multinational science and technology company in Pensacola, FL. This is a 6-month contract with a potential for extension.

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA‑compliant supplemental package available for enrollment.

Schedule: M-F 7am-4pm, with possible overtime when HM approves.

• Perform mechanical and/or electrical maintenance and troubleshooting of all manufacturing and facilities equipment
• Supervise upgrades/modifications to all equipment in order to maintain an “As New Status” (Includes function and appearance)
• Identify key areas for improvement and execute the corrective action
• Manage and execute small‑scale equipment & facility projects
• Perform and execute Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
• Execute equipment startup, equipment support and calibration
• Supervise contractors (plumbers, electricians, etc.) and coordinate mechanical assemblies
• Communicate in a timely manner relevant information pertaining to specific programs and engineering disciplines
• Lead FMEAs for equipment upgrades, changes or obsolescence
• Utilize Root Cause Analysis in problem solving and troubleshooting
• Train/mentor maintenance technicians in troubleshooting and problem solving

• Knowledgeable of engineering principles and common commercial components and the ability to apply them
• PLC knowledge and experience
• Lean experience a plus
• Working knowledge of engineering standards and safety codes
• Working knowledge of facility‑related infrastructure, boilers, compressors, etc.
• Technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment and processes
• Working knowledge of MS applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
• Understanding of AutoCAD use and application, working knowledge a plus
• Three to five years of applicable experience in mechanical, electrical or chemical engineering disciplines. Or entry‑level with a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical engineering or equivalent experience is required
