. The Salon Retail Coordinator is responsible for the operation and functional management of the front desk. This position reports to the Salon Manager and is nonexempt.
Great customer service is an art, and we are seeking artists. Our goal is to make each guest feel as though they are the most important person we will see all day. If you can smile, engage in small talk, and attend to customers’ needs while multitasking, you may be the perfect fit.
Position DescriptionThe Salon Retail Coordinator will manage front‑desk operations, ensure exceptional customer experience, and support sales initiatives.
Client Sales and Service Responsibilities- Suggest retail products to all clients, upsell larger quantities, and promote additional services.
- Cross‑sell services to other areas of the salon.
- Respond professionally to customer service issues and promptly address complaints.
- Exhibit strong communication skills when handling difficult or corrective service situations.
- Resolve booking mistakes or corrective work efficiently.
- Handle refunds and re‑do’s professionally and friend lily.
- Maintain ongoing continuing education on products, services, and industry issues.
- Promote business outside the salon.
- Adjust schedule to meet client needs.
- Greet clients within sixty seconds of arrival.
- Answer phones within three rings, with a smile, stating name and salon location.
- Listen for a response before placing the client on hold.
- Efficiently schedule, cancel, and reschedule client appointments.
- Handle POS transactions promptly and efficiently.
- Encourage pre‑bookings during client check‑out.
- Ensure the reception area and salon meet and exceed State Board regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
- Effectively organize time and resources to meet sales goals.
- Communicate with Salon Management regarding issues and needs.
- Adhere to salon guidelines for attendance and tardiness.
- Maintain an updated professional appearance that meets the salon dress code.
- GED or high school diploma.
- Proficient with computer‑based business software.
- Ability to handle money, count, and make change.
- Customer service or cosmetic industry experience preferred.
- Use a computer keyboard, standard telephone, and related business equipment.
- Work with chemicals and chemical compounds.
- Stand for up to an eight‑hour shift.
- Lift up to 25 pounds.
