REL Mortgage Assumption Specialist I

Location:

Pensacola, Florida (Hybrid)

Role Overview This position is responsible for examining, evaluating, and processing tasks associated with assumption and release of liability requests. The specialist will serve as the primary point of contact, coordinating the process from origination to disposition. The role involves working under moderate supervision to perform routine tasks and analysis, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities Manage inbound and outbound member calls regarding assumption and release of liability requests.

Obtain, review, and verify required loan documentation for accuracy and completeness.

Monitor and respond to written communication channels, including email, fax, and live chat.

Ensure validation of Successor in Interest as regulated by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).Communicate with members, attorneys, title companies, and other external parties regarding documentation and process status.

Coordinate settlement dates with all involved parties.

Analyze, research, and resolve discrepancies and issues related to member accounts and loans.

Update loan notes and provide administrative support for the Assumptions team.

Required Qualifications

Experience:

1-5 years of relevant experience. Experience in managing multiple priorities independently or in a team environment to achieve goals.

Technical

Skills:

Working knowledge of CFPB servicing rules and NCUA requirements. Working knowledge of current regulations and investor guidelines. Effective word processing and spreadsheet software skills.

Preferred Qualifications Associate degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.

Working knowledge of credit union operations and processes.

Working knowledge of NCUA regulations that govern the activities, products, and services of the business unit.

Working knowledge of products, services, processes, requirements, and systems related to the business unit.
