Job Description

  • The Patient Services Representative I represents the face of the company to patients who come in as part of their health routine or for insights into important health decisions.
  • The representative draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures.
  • This role has direct patient contact, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.
  • The representative demonstrates leadership behaviors with a focus on process excellence and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
  • Under the direction of the area supervisor, this role performs daily activities accurately and on time.
  • It maintains a safe and professional environment, performs forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties, maintains required records and documentation, and promotes a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Requirement/Must Have
  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills including pediatric and geriatric.
  • Flexible and available based on staffing needs including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
Experience
  • Minimum of 6 months experience required.
  • One or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
  • Keyboard and data entry experience required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe and professional environment.
  • Perform clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing following established procedures.
  • Maintain required records and documentation.
  • Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients and clients.
Qualification And Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.
