Job Description
- The Patient Services Representative I represents the face of the company to patients who come in as part of their health routine or for insights into important health decisions.
- The representative draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures.
- This role has direct patient contact, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.
- The representative demonstrates leadership behaviors with a focus on process excellence and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
- Under the direction of the area supervisor, this role performs daily activities accurately and on time.
- It maintains a safe and professional environment, performs forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties, maintains required records and documentation, and promotes a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills including pediatric and geriatric.
- Flexible and available based on staffing needs including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
- Minimum of 6 months experience required.
- One or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
- Keyboard and data entry experience required.
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the supervisor.
- Maintain a safe and professional environment.
- Perform clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing following established procedures.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients and clients.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred.
