The Lab Assistant will support the laboratory operations within our infertility clinic by managing administrative tasks related to laboratory processes. This position involves maintaining laboratory documentation and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The Lab Assistant will serve as a vital link between laboratory staff, clinical teams, and patients to facilitate smooth operations.
Responsibilities- Document and maintain comprehensive laboratory records, including sample tracking, test results, and inventory management, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Input laboratory data into electronic health records (EHR) systems, ensuring accuracy and timely updates for patient management.
- Serve as a point of contact for internal teams and patients, addressing inquiries related to laboratory processes in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Support adherence to safety regulations, quality assurance standards, and infection control procedures within the laboratory setting.
- Assist in generating laboratory reports and summaries for clinical staff, contributing to ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
- Support laboratory operations by performing additional tasks as assigned by laboratory management.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in health administration, laboratory science, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in an administrative role within a clinical or laboratory setting is desirable.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, maintain accurate records, and prioritize responsibilities.
- Strong focus on accuracy in data entry, record-keeping, and documentation to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients, laboratory staff, and clinical teams.
- A patient-centered approach with the ability to address inquiries and concerns professionally and empathetically.
- Proficient in using office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and electronic health record (EHR) systems for data management and reporting.
- Ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions to support laboratory operations.
- Understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance standards related to laboratory practices and patient confidentiality (e.g., HIPAA).
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficient in using office software and electronic health record systems for data entry and documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on providing exceptional patient service.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
