Scope of Work:
The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning and preparing guest rooms and public areas by meeting established standards of cleanliness and propriety to assure guest satisfaction and maximize revenues.

Responsibilities
  • Retrieves items from shelves and storerooms, sets up cleaning cart with supplies, and maintains carts and storerooms in a clean and orderly fashion to enhance efficiency and ease of cleaning rooms.
  • Cleans and wipes windows, doors, walls, closets and fixtures in rooms, public areas and hallways, often using ladders or stools to reach hard-to-reach areas, to maintain a clean, presentable and attractive facility at all times.
  • Washes shower walls and tubs, cleans toilets and stall walls if applicable, wipes exposed pipes, cleans mirrors, sinks and walls to ensure clean and sanitary guest and public restrooms.
  • Replaces towels, soaps and all room amenities and restocks literature and stationery removed by guests or that is soiled or torn.
  • Washes all hard floor areas by hand to remove dirt and soiled areas.
  • Dusts and polishes all furniture, fixtures and wall hangings and reaches vents and ceiling corners to remove dust and cobwebs.
  • Strips beds and remakes with fresh linens, checking bedspreads, blankets and bed pads for cleanliness; lifts mattresses to check for soil or objects underneath.
  • Checks closet for cleanliness, wipes closet door/handle/overhead shelves, and restocks guest room supplies such as hangers, extra blankets and pillows.
  • Vacuum rooms, public areas and hallways, operating vacuums, and move heavy furniture as needed to vacuum under furniture and in hard-to-reach areas.
  • Inspects door and window locks to ensure they are in working order and reports unsafe conditions to management.
  • Inspects room equipment (TV, lights, faucets, radios, phones) and reports deficiencies to the Executive Housekeeper for prompt repair/resolution.
  • Secures and maintains custody of equipment, keys and supplies at all times.
  • Reports missing articles, items requiring repair, damage, safety hazards to the Supervisor.
  • Maintains a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.
  • Follows and adheres to all brand standards and management directions. Acts as a Brand Ambassador of A&R’s Culture, Mission, and Values.
  • Ensures all guests are treated efficiently and courteously and that Company standards are applied.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Previous laundry attendant experience preferred but not required.
  • Must be willing and able to work a varied schedule that may include early morning, evening, night, and weekend shifts.
  • Basic ability to comprehend English language to understand information such as labels, instructions, and basic guest requests.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
  • Ability to move throughout the hotel (standing, walking, kneeling, and bending) for extended periods.
  • Professional and ethical.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Quick learner and hard worker.
  • Must be a team player and able to work independently.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to use body to move or carry objects or materials.
  • Must be able to stand for periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to make repeated movements of the shoulders, elbows, and hands.
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull a moderate weight frequently.
