Test Engineer II; Security Clearance

Position: Test Engineer II (508 Support) with Security Clearance
SUMMARY:

The Test Engineer II will support DISA’s sensing development initiatives, including modernization and integration of the Open Sensor Platform (OSP), Full Packet Capture (FPCAP), Automated Security Validation (ASV), Intrusion Detection System (IDS), and emerging sensing technologies. This role will perform hands-on integration testing, regression testing, performance evaluations, data validation, and verification/validation (V&V) activities across lab, cloud, and operationally representative environments. The Test Engineer II will develop test plans, procedures, automated test scripts, and detailed test reports that validate system functionality, interoperability, security requirements, and mission readiness.

The Test Engineer II will work closely with system engineers, developers, cybersecurity engineers, and DISA stakeholders to support successful delivery of new sensing capabilities used to protect and defend the DoDIN. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibilities:

· Support accessibility planning and testing to ensure all delivered systems, applications, and documentation comply with Section 508 requirements.
· Conduct accessibility evaluations using approved tools (e.g., ARC, AXE, WAVE, ANDI, JAWS/NVDA screen readers, keyboard-only navigation).
· Validate compliance against WCAG 2.1 AA and DoD Section 508 standards for web applications, portals, dashboards, and documentation.
· Identify accessibility issues and document findings, remediation steps, and risk impacts in test reports and defect tracking systems.
· Collaborate with developers, UX teams, and system owners to ensure accessibility requirements are incorporated into design and development.
· Review vendor deliverables, VPATs/ACRs, and accessibility statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
· Participate in test planning activities to integrate accessibility testing into functional, regression, and user acceptance testing.
· Support creation and maintenance of accessibility test scripts, checklists, and repeatable testing procedures.
· Verify remediation activities and retest corrected accessibility findings to confirm compliance.
· Provide recommendations and technical guidance on accessibility best practices across the development lifecycle. Test Planning & Execution
· Support development of test plans, test procedures, and detailed test documentation for sensing capabilities under development.
· Contribute to Integration & Test Readiness Reviews (ITRR), System Requirements Reviews (SRR/SFR), and Design Reviews (PDR/CDR).
· Develop and maintain automated regression test suites aligned with Dev Sec Ops  pipelines.
· Prepare test data, test scripts, and environment configurations required for testing events.
· Document test results including issues, severity, impact, and recommended corrective actions. Integration, Performance & Regression Testing
· Execute integration and interoperability test events across multiple sensing platforms including OSP, FPCAP, ASV, and IDS.
· Validate sensor performance including throughput, response time, data integrity, and system stability.
· Conduct regression testing to ensure new code, patches, or configuration changes do not impact existing functionality.
· Validate data flows, metadata generation (e.g., Zeek logs), and data brokering integration with SIEM tools.
· Support performance testing by collecting system data under load, stress, or high-throughput scenarios. Verification & Validation
· Perform V&V testing to confirm compliance with system, functional, security, and operational requirements.
· Validate interoperability between sensors, cloud components, data brokering services, and DISA enterprise tools.
· Support Government IV&V, JITC coordination, and Operational Test (OT) activities as required.
