Comtech Telecommunications Corp. is a leading global technology company providing terrestrial and wireless network solutions, next‑generation 9‑1‑1 emergency services, satellite and space communications technologies, and cloud‑native capabilities to commercial and government customers worldwide. The company seeks a Defensive Cyberspace Operations Instructor to deliver high‑technical training and develop curriculum for Department of Defense personnel at the Center for Information Warfare Training (CIWT) in Pensacola.
Responsibilities- Deliver highly technical training in a military environment through lectures, labs, exercises, and other delivery methods.
- Assist in developing Cyberspace Operations training curriculum, including lecture content, instructor/student guides, tests, exercises, and simulations.
- Conduct classroom instruction, practical laboratory exercises, study hall periods, and tutoring/remedial instruction for up to twenty students per class.
- Incorporate technical knowledge into training delivery.
- Assess student knowledge, skills, and proficiency.
- Deliver instruction via interactive synchronous and asynchronous learning activities.
- Review and analyze training materials, recommend changes.
- Maintain the required security clearance for assigned tasks.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to impart technical knowledge through instruction.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the level required by each assigned task.
- Experience in adult learning with emphasis on large classes; U.S. Military instructor certification or designation highly desirable.
- Intermediate‑level knowledge/experience in the following areas:
- Encryption technologies; symmetric/asymmetric, hashes, checksums.
- IDS/IPS; experience managing IDS/IPS is a plus; knowledge of active vs. passive, topologies.
- Advanced analysis tools:
Wireshark, Snort (write signatures, recognize triggers). - Advanced exploitation techniques knowledge in packet captures (Wireshark for common exploits, e.g., KAHT, lsass, SADMIN).
- Advanced social engineering: phishing techniques, road apple, drive‑by downloads.
- Additional experience: 3–5 years as a Computer Network Defense (CND) analyst; security+, CEH, CISSP desired.
- Bachelor’s degree plus two (2) years of experience in Cyberspace Operations (CO).
- Or four (4) years of experience in CO if no degree.
- Desired additional certifications:
Security+, CEH, CISSP;
DoDD 8140.01/DoD 8570.01‑M Level II (desired but not required).
