CDL Operator – SMITH INDUSTRIAL SERVICES

Pay range: $18.00/hr – $25.00/hr salary may vary based on skills and experience.

Industrial Manager/Regional Manager. Status:
Non‑Exempt.

Purpose:

Lead and oversee crews performing industrial hydroblasting and vacuum truck operations.

• Assume total responsibility for the safe operation of all required equipment.
• Conduct pre‑ and post‑trip inspections.
• Operate wet and dry vacuum trucks; perform hydroblasting services including lance/shotgun operation; operate hydraulic pumps, blowers, and jetter trucks.
• Load and unload equipment, tools, supplies; perform manual tasks and assist operators and crew leaders.
• Maintain machinery, equipment, and tools in operable condition; clean vehicles, trucks, equipment.
• Execute safety procedures: lock‑out/tag‑out, confined space entry, housekeeping, company procedures.
• Lead team members as needed; report potential issues to Industrial Manager/Branch Manager.
• Adhere to attendance policy; participate in safety trainings; comply with OSHA and company SOPs.
• Travel as required.

• Other duties as assigned.
• Assist in shop, parts, inventory, or municipal areas as needed.

• Lift 75‑100 pounds.
• Enter confined spaces; maintain a safety‑first attitude.

High school graduate or GED. Minimum two years experience in industrial hydroblasting and vacuum truck operation. Must pass a drug test, background check, and motor vehicle check. Position requires a Commercial Driver’s License with a Tanker Endorsement/Class A or

B.

Specific Licenses:
Valid state‑issued Commercial Driver’s License and .

Conditions:

Industrial setting, outdoor environment, exposure to extreme temperatures and elements, hazardous chemicals, prolonged standing, climbing, handheld radio/phone use.
