Assistant Store Manager – O'Reilly Auto Parts

The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in areas of sales, customer service, store appearance, and store operations. They will manage the store during the Store Manager’s absence and/or when working opposing shifts, and lead the store team in servicing customers.
- Lead the store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
- Supervise customer service levels in the retail showroom, including team execution on programs such as Related Sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, and Rock the Lot.
- Ensure adequate staffing at the retail sales counter, especially during peak hours.
- Assist in setting team member goals, providing feedback, coaching/mentoring, and ensuring current training.
- Assist in the hiring process: recruiting tasks, scheduling and participating in interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating on selection.
- Ensure telephone is answered according to company policy.
- Process buy online/ship to store, hub‑to‑store, and DC add orders, notifying customers upon shipment arrivals.
- Handle special orders and outside purchases via the electronic outside purchase order ledger.
- Process retail customer returns and exchanges accurately, issuing refunds and staging returned merchandise.
- Invoicing: ensure all merchandise, core charges, and warranties are invoiced before leaving the store.
- Communicate Zipline messages and delegate Image Maker and merchandising tasks.
- Enforce company policies: adherence to posted schedules, approval of changes, clocking in/out.
- Perform all store opening/closing duties: day‑end procedures, securing money, deposits, bank deposits, security alarms, lock doors, and secure delivery vehicles.
- Maintain store building, parking lot, signage/lighting, hardware, test equipment, and delivery vehicles.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Sales Specialist Training.
- Assistant Manager Certification.
- RSS Certification.
Desired
Qualifications:
- Certified Parts Professional Certification.
- ASE Certification.
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
