Job Summary
As a sales associate you will be the face of our company, highlighting our brand and image while contributing to building our reputation as a customer‑focused organization. You will be directly responsible for assisting customers and helping them recognize the need for our products and services. You must be capable of learning about what we sell and articulating our purpose in an educational, insightful, and professional manner.

- Proactively engage and make a connection with customers.
- Ask questions and listen to customers' needs.
- Direct customers to merchandise and inform them about upcoming events, promotions, mobile offers, and the STAR card.
- Provide premier customer service.
- Cooperate and build positive inclusive and respectful relationships; take accountability for your own actions and outcomes.
- Maintain store appearance.
- Cross‑sell products and know the layout of the store.
- Make suggestions to customers on the latest trends and current promotions based on individual needs.
- Upsell products.
- Learn product features and keep up with the latest trends, leveraging company tools and technology to confidently provide product knowledge and specifications.
- Use a Point‑of‑Sales system to process cash, exchanges, discounts, gift cards, credit cards, debit cards, and cash handling, including counting money and returning accurate amounts to customers.
- Complete various forms of paperwork, reports, and reconciliation.
- Be the keeper of merchandise: complete all inventory processes and ensure merchandised items are properly checked in and accurately ticketed.
- Participate in periodic inventories.
- Adhere to the assigned work schedule.
- Provide accurate and complete follow‑through on work assignments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Basic knowledge of product merchandise.
- Retail experience preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to read, write and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers, peers, and management.
- Ability to communicate on the telephone with proper etiquette.
- Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to multi‑task while being attentive to customers and remain flexible to the needs of the business.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision.
This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least two consecutive hours. It may occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. Vision needs include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The role requires lifting at least 25 lbs and up to 50 lbs in some departments. Work is typically performed indoors but may be assigned outdoors depending on location.
