Overview

Velocity is not your typical restoration shop. Our technicians work in a cutting‑edge, climate‑controlled facility, working primarily with new sheet metal. Unlike typical collision repair, our team brings custom hot‑rod dreams to life with high‑quality craftsmanship and passion.

Paint and Body Manager

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform advanced blocking of body filler, sanding, and primer application.
  • Conduct light body repairs on newly manufactured aftermarket body panels.
  • Remove and install aftermarket body panels, including doors, hoods, and tailgates.
  • Strip, straighten, and accurately gap body panels to precise specifications.
  • Execute short and long blocking techniques and apply body fillers.
  • Properly tape and mask vehicles to protect adjacent panels from overspray.
  • Use materials efficiently and cost‑effectively while adhering to company standards.
  • Assist fellow technicians with preparation procedures to maintain workflow and meet deadlines.
  • Support the painting team by lifting, preparing, sanding, taping, masking, and cleaning vehicles before they enter the paint booth.
  • Complete all paint preparation processes as outlined in work orders.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation at all times.
  • Document work by taking clear photographs for customer service and internal records.
  • Arrive on time with a professional appearance, ready to work at the start of the shift.
  • Adhere to the company dress code and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Complete daily SOS/sign off sheet.

  • Thrive in a fast‑paced environment while working independently or on a team.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license with reliable daily transportation.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and use all required protective equipment.
  • Communicate professionally with managers, coworkers, and vendors.
  • Demonstrate dependability and a strong work ethic, arriving on time each day.
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday with occasional overtime evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
Education Background and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in automotive collision repair or a similar environment.
Physical Demands
  • Prolonged periods of standing or walking around the workspace.
  • Frequently lifting heavy objects, such as tools, parts, or equipment, often weighing up to 50‑75 pounds.
  • Regularly bending, stooping, or crouching to work on vehicles at different heights.
  • Moving large or heavy equipment, carts, or vehicles within the shop.
  • Precise manipulation of tools, small parts, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Continuous use of hands, arms, and fingers for tasks like tightening bolts, sanding, or painting.
  • Exposure to loud noises from power tools and machinery.
  • Using equipment like impact wrenches or sanders that produce significant vibration.
