You will diagnose and repair water-based fire protection systems, including fire pumps, keeping the systems that protect our customers' people and property ready to perform.

  • Modify, add to, and relocate sprinkler piping and components in accordance with approved plans, manufacturer requirements, and applicable codes.

  • Complete work independently and efficiently, with minimal return visits and a high standard of workmanship.

Fire Pump Service

  • Test, troubleshoot, and repair electric and diesel fire pumps, controllers, and associated equipment, including jockey pumps.

  • Perform and document fire pump churn and flow tests and evaluate results against acceptance and performance criteria.

  • Identify fire pump deficiencies, determine root cause, and complete or coordinate corrective repairs.

Codes and Documentation

  • Perform work in accordance with NFPA 13, 20, and 25, state and local requirements, and the authority having jurisdiction.

  • Read and interpret sprinkler plans, shop drawings, and system layouts, and verify field conditions before starting work.

  • Complete accurate service reports, deficiency documentation, and quotes for needed repairs in a timely manner.

Training and Mentorship

  • Train, coach, and mentor apprentices and less experienced technicians in safe work practices, troubleshooting, and proper installation and repair methods.

  • Model Encore's standards for quality, safety, and professionalism on every job.

  • Serve as a technical resource to branch leadership and other technicians on complex service issues.

Customer and Safety

  • Communicate clearly with customers, building owners, and facility staff about system status, findings, and recommended repairs.

  • Coordinate impairments, shutdowns, and system restoration with customers and other trades.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all applicable OSHA and job-site safety procedures.
