The City of Peoria’s Water Department seeks a Utility Plant Operator II to monitor, operate, and perform basic preventative maintenance on treatment plants and remote site equipment. Duties include performing routine inspections, identifying issues on processes and equipment, and completing related tasks as assigned. Shift work, weekends, holidays, standby duty, and callback duty may be required. This is a rotational shift position with schedules that may vary and may include 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Operator Certification Pay Incentive Program Available To All Eligible Staff.

• Monitor and operate treatment plants and remote site equipment.
• Perform routine inspections and identify issues on processes and equipment.
• Complete related tasks as assigned.
• Support shift work, weekends, holidays, standby duty, and callback duty.

• High school graduation or equivalency.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Valid Arizona Class “D” driver’s license at the time of hire.
• Must possess an ADEQ Grade III certification or a Grade II certification in the relevant field upon hire, with a requirement to achieve Grade III certification within one year of employment.
• Physical demands:
  Work requires heavy physical exertion and effort.
