Automotive Technician #JR

• 1-2 years experience. Moderate previous experience required in the same or similar previous positions.

• High school graduation or equivalency.

• 1-2 years experience. Moderate previous experience required in the same or similar previous positions.

• Work requires heavy physical exertion and effort.

• Valid Arizona Class "B" Drivers license within 6 months of hire.
• Possession of 2 Automotive Service Excellence (A.S.E.) Certificates, or ability to obtain within 1 year after date of hire.

The City of Peoria Public Works has an excellent opportunity for an Automotive Technician I in the Fleet Division. In this role, you will perform preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of automotive and heavy equipment. Depending on assignment, this may include specialized vehicles such as fire pumpers and aerial trucks. Responsibilities include routine maintenance, minor mechanical repairs, and completing related tasks as needed to ensure the City’s fleet operates safely and efficiently.
