Job SummaryThe Structural Project Engineer will report to an assigned Project Manager in the Structural department. The main responsibilities include providing technical expertise in design, calculations, drawing preparation, and field reviews on Structural projects. The individual should be able to work on multiple assignments with overlapping schedules and aim to become a Senior Project Engineer.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThe Structural Project Engineer will have regular contact with clients and design team members, representing RLG’s standards.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities- Solve engineering problems under supervision
- Prepare construction documents for review
- Assist in technical reports and specifications
- Review submittals based on construction documents
- Use and understand design software and validate results
- Perform engineering tasks such as planning, designing, and overseeing projects
- Research and analyze data for project planning
- Prepare design modules and calculations for structural elements
- Develop documents using BIM software
- Learn building codes and permitting requirements
- Coordinate design work with architects and other disciplines
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Proficient with Revit software
- Positive attitude and self-motivated
- High attention to detail
- Strong communication and comprehension skills
- Organizational skills to manage multiple priorities
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field
- Engineer In Training (EIT) Certificate preferred
- Sitting at a desk and working on a computer for prolonged periods
- Occasional attendance at technical events and seminars, some travel required
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds
