Job Summary

The Structural Project Manager reports to a Group Leader within the Structural Department. The role focuses on delivering assigned projects on time and within budget. This position requires managing multiple concurrent assignments, multitasking effectively, and maintaining strong organization. The Structural Project Manager will work toward progression into a Senior Structural Project Manager role.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The Structural Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for clients and design team members, representing the standards and expectations of the organization. The role includes directing, training, mentoring engineering staff, and participating in employee performance management activities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepare proposals and qualification packages
  • Review and approve project designs
  • Prepare construction documents with limited supervision
  • Review submittals for compliance with construction documents
  • Conduct site visits, perform field observations, and prepare reports
  • Maintain organized calculation files for future reference
  • Sign and seal engineering documents for assigned projects
  • Attend client meetings and document discussions
  • Monitor project quality and progress-
  • Track schedules, monitor budgets, and assist with billing activities
  • Proactively identify new client opportunities
  • Use design and drafting software to prepare engineering documents
  • Conduct site visits prior to design and throughout construction
  • Prepare and/or revise technical reports and specifications
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills & Abilities
  • Proficiency with Revit software
  • Knowledge of building codes and permitting requirements
  • Strong leadership abilities, including staff training and mentorship
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong comprehension and documentation abilities
  • High attention to detail
  • Self‑motivated with a positive attitude
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple deadlines
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license required
  • Experience with design and modeling software
  • General knowledge of code and permitting requirements
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Extended periods of desk and computer work
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds as needed
  • Occasional attendance at technical events, seminars, and networking activities (some travel required)
  • Occasional site visits, including exposure to uneven terrain and varying weather conditions
