Relationship Banker II | Northpoint
Position Summary:
The Relationship Banker II combines expertise in customer service, sales, and operational management at an elevated skill level within the banking team. This advanced role merges the responsibilities of a teller and a personal banker, focusing on providing comprehensive financial services to customers. It requires deeper knowledge of banking products, customer service, and operational processes, handling complex transactions and guiding less experienced staff while building relationships and promoting the bank’s services.
Customer Service & Relationship Management
- Greet and engage customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing exceptional service to build lasting relationships.
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for customers, ensuring the highest level of service is provided.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through personalized service and proactive outreach, assisting with both routine and complex banking needs.
- Provide guidance to customers on financial products and services that best meet their needs.
- Actively identify and promote all bank products and services.
- Ask clients targeted questions to learn about their financial needs and goals.
- Meet and exceed monthly sales and referral goals by engaging with customers to assess needs and recommend suitable banking solutions.
- Proactively seek opportunities to refer customers to other lines of business such as mortgage, wealth, treasury, commercial, etc.
- Open and manage personal and business accounts ensuring accurate and compliant set-up.
- Assist with account maintenance tasks such as updating personal information, handling transfers, and processing check orders.
- Support customers with online and mobile banking services, ensuring they are comfortable and knowledgeable about digital tools.
- Process and assist with customer loan applications, including personal loans and home equity lines of credit.
- Conduct initial loan screenings, gather necessary documentation, and work closely with loan officers or other departments for a smooth approval process.
- Educate customers on loan products, eligibility requirements, and loan terms.
- Process transactions with a high degree of accuracy.
- Balance cash drawer and ensure transactions are accurately recorded.
- Ensure compliance with all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, especially regarding financial transactions and customer interactions.
- Monitor and detect suspicious or potentially fraudulent activity, escalating issues to management and other departments as appropriate.
- Adhere to privacy regulations and ensure customer data is handled securely and confidentially.
- Assist newer staff by providing guidance on bank products, customer service skills, and operational procedures.
- Help foster a collaborative and positive work environment by sharing knowledge and assisting with day‑to‑day operational needs.
- Assist with daily branch operational tasks, including balancing cash, managing branch supplies, and supporting opening and closing of the branch.
- Support branch leadership in maintaining branch security and ensuring operational efficiency.
- Strong sales and customer service skills

- Accurately count money
- Perform duties and make decisions under frequent time pressures

- Requires a high school diploma.
- 2 years of banking experience with lending responsibilities required.
- 1 year of previous training and/or a combination of mentorship, military, or management experience required.
