As a Firefighter-EMT
, you will protect facilities, deter crime, detect and report suspicious activities, and respond to emergencies, including fires, hazardous material incidents, confined space rescues, and basic life support.
Pay Rate: $26.00 / Hour
Schedule:
Part‑Time (Includes Nights, Weekends & Holidays)
- Sunday (12 hours), 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Wednesday (12 hours), 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Friday (12 hours), 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- At least 21 years old, high school diploma or equivalent
- Effective written and oral communication; interpersonal skills; ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public
- Licensing requirements as per state/local laws; may be required prior to employment
- Health License as EMT or higher
- Current CPR/AED Certification
- Pass physical & FIT test for Self‑Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
- Annual Hazardous Materials Technician Certification (OSHA 29 CFR ) maintained
- Annual Confined Space & Rope Rescue Certification (OSHA 29 CFR ) maintained
- Any additional state requirements for a firefighter‑EMT
- Successful background investigation & drug screen per federal/state/local laws
- Exceptional customer service & communication skills
- Valid Driver’s License with at least one year of driving experience, clean driving record, minimum insurance level, and ability to operate required vehicle
- Intermediate computer skills to operate wireless technology at client sites
- Ability to handle crisis situations calmly and efficiently
- Safely respond to emergencies: fight fires, mitigate hazardous materials, rescue confined space occupants, administer BLS
- Perform firefighting duties: advance hose lines, operate fire apparatus pump, use power tools, climb ladders, wear gear including SCBA (~70 lb)
- Work in various environments: cold, rain/snow, heat
- Occasionally lift/carry up to 80 lb; climb stairs/ramps/ladders occasionally; stand/walk long periods
