Guest Services, Customer Service Rep
Front Desk Agents are responsible for greeting and registering guests, providing outstanding guest service during their stay, and settling the guest's account upon departure. Primary duties include: registering guests, managing reservations, and performing hotel operator and concierge tasks. They ensure attentive, courteous, and efficient service to all guests before arrival and throughout their stay, while maximizing room revenue and occupancy.
ResponsibilitiesQualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in a related field is helpful.
- Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
- Positive, upbeat personality with a desire to deliver outstanding customer service.
- Ability to multi-task, be detail-oriented, and problem-solve effectively.
- Clear communication skills.
- Ability to evaluate and select among alternative actions quickly and accurately.
- Work well under stress and in high-pressure situations.
- Handle workplace problems proactively, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving issues.
- Active listening skills to understand and clarify issues raised by guests and co-workers.
- Ability to understand financial information, data, and perform basic arithmetic functions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Willingness to work a varied schedule including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Understanding of hotel products and guest services (e.g., lifestyle, full-service resort).
- Ability to contribute to an enjoyable work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Approach all guest and staff interactions with friendliness and service orientation.
- Maintain high standards of appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and name tag.
- Maintain regular attendance as per hotel scheduling needs.
- Follow all hotel policies, standards, and safety regulations.
- Greet and welcome guests at the front desk warmly and professionally.
- Operate the telephone switchboard effectively.
- Handle guest requests, inquiries, mail, and messages courteously and efficiently.
- Provide information about hotel services, facilities, and local attractions.
- Coordinate with other departments and team members effectively.
- Be familiar with rates, packages, promotions, and in-house groups.
- Accurately handle reservations, check-ins, and check-outs.
- Operate all relevant front desk computer systems.
- Manage packages, mail, and messages for guests and meetings.
- Use proper radio etiquette when communicating with staff.
- Assist guests with luggage, newspapers, messages, and amenities as needed.
- Stay informed about hotel amenities, events, local attractions, and activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, including maintaining cleanliness and safety throughout the hotel.
