Experienced Catastrophe Claims Representative

Auto-Owners Insurance is seeking an experienced Catastrophe Claims Representative to join our team. Open positions may be located across the 26 states we operate in; specific locations are listed in the job postings.

• Be available for frequent travel up to 21 days at a time. Travel is required on short notice to the location of catastrophe, which would most likely be out of state.
• Investigate and assemble facts, determine policy coverage, evaluate the amount of loss, analyze legal liability and pay or deny losses.
• Be familiar with insurance coverage by studying insurance policies, endorsements, and forms.
• Work toward the resolution of claims, possibly attending arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials as necessary.
• Ensure that claims payments are issued in a timely and accurate manner.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 2 years claims handling experience or comparable experience
• Field claims experience with multi-line property and casualty claims and wind/hail
• Proficient with Xactimate software
• Above average communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to resolve complex issues
• Organize and interpret data
• Ability to handle multiple assignments
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Military experience is considered

Anticipated annualized starting base pay range: $50,000.00 – $88,800.00, plus other components of the compensation package including benefit dollars and bonus opportunities.
