Pay range: $60,000 - $70,000 annually
Connor Co. is seeking an organized, detail-oriented Showroom Buyer to support purchasing and inventory management for showroom product lines, including Kohler, Delta, Moen, and Sterling. In this role, you will work with vendors and internal teams to maintain appropriate inventory levels, secure competitive pricing, and support our showrooms. Knowledge of plumbing and showroom products is preferred, but not required.
Schedule and Preemployment RequirementsCandidates must be available Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Key Responsibilities- Review the daily suggested purchase order queue and place orders with assigned vendors.
- Manage inventory levels and stocking locations to support product availability and department goals.
- Review vendor acknowledgments for accuracy and resolve purchase order discrepancies.
- Work with Accounts Payable and vendors to resolve pricing, invoice, and order discrepancies.
- Build vendor relationships, participate in vendor meetings, and negotiate competitive pricing.
- Keep managers informed of vendor concerns, product availability, and other issues affecting purchasing.
- Identify excess and nonmoving inventory and coordinate actions to reduce it.
- Create and maintain accurate SKU and product records in the purchasing system.
- Collaborate with managers on product selection, maintenance, and purchasing; answer product questions.
- Monitor new products, competitor offerings, pricing, and sales trends.
- Attend industry trade shows and product training as needed, and perform other assigned duties.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least two years of wholesale purchasing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of plumbing products and showroom product lines preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and the ability to learn Eclipse/Solar software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in purchasing, inventory, and data entry.
- Sound judgment and problem-solving skills to evaluate options and resolve issues.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize competing tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate with managers, sales staff, and vendors.
- Clear communication, a positive attitude, and a professional approach to a busy workload.
- Willingness to travel for trade shows, training, and other business needs.
