We’re looking for an experienced Environmental Services Manager / Maintenance Director at Silver Birch Living who believes that a safe, clean, and well‑maintained environment is core to resident dignity, comfort, and quality of life.
Base Pay Range$55,000.00/yr - $55,000.00/yr
What You’ll Do- Prepare and turn apartments for new resident move‑ins
- Oversee contracted facility services, including HVAC, fire prevention/monitoring, cable/phone, resident call systems, and other essential building systems
- Plan, schedule, and perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs to community infrastructure (walls, ceilings, doors, windows, roofing, hardware, flooring, and more)
- Maintain accurate records, including work orders, service logs, inspection reports, and preventive maintenance documentation
- Manage a historical and current asset log for all community property, grounds, equipment, and systems
- Oversee landscaping, snow, ice removal, and grounds safety
- Serve as the community point of contact for local officials and inspectors, including Code Enforcement, Fire, Police, Homeland Security, Department of Health, OSHA, and related safety standards
- Respond to facility‑based emergencies (power failures, plumbing, heating, vandalism, weather events, etc.)
- Perform hands‑on carpentry, painting, and plumbing maintenance
- Hire, train, and supervise housekeeping staff, ensuring performance and cleanliness standards are upheld
- Oversee the community van program, including driver training, routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs
- Lead the facility safety program, including annual disaster preparedness training and required safety drills
- Manage and supervise landscaping, building safety, and environmental budgets, controlling expenditures effectively
- Ensure a safe working environment for staff and residents
You are a proven leader with strong technical knowledge, team supervision experience, and a genuine commitment to seniors.
Required Qualifications- 2+ years of building maintenance and facility management experience, including mechanical equipment repair
- 1+ years of direct supervisory experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Working knowledge of building plans and basic utility systems
- Understanding of cleaning chemicals and sanitation standards
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Experience in supportive living environments
