Machine Operator - Wire Mill Operations

Location: Bartonville/Peoria, IL

Department: Wire Mill Production Team

Hourly Wage: $19.65 base + $4-$7/hour incentive pay after training

Shift Options: 1st, 2nd (+$0.35/hr), or 3rd shift (+$0.50/hr) | Overtime and weekend/holiday availability required

Are you mechanically inclined with a strong work ethic and ready to grow your career in a hands-on industrial environment? At Liberty Steel & Wire, we're looking for motivated individuals to join our Wire Mill team and train to become full-fledged Machine Operators-helping produce iconic Red Brand products like barb wire, fencing, and galvanized wire.

This is your opportunity to become part of the Independent Steel Workers' Alliance (ISWA) and contribute to a legacy of quality and strength in American steel manufacturing.

What You'll Do

Operate production machines in the Wire Mill to manufacture Red Brand wire products

Follow detailed work instructions, safety protocols, and operating procedures

Perform visual inspections and report any hazards or irregularities

Drive forklifts to move materials (certification preferred)

Support and mentor new team members through training and collaboration

Work outdoors and in varying environmental conditions

Contribute to a positive, team-first work culture

Experience

What We're Looking For:

• Heavy industrial experience preferred
• Forklift driving preferred (certification a plus)
• Gantry crane experience a bonus

Education

• High school diploma or GED or ability to pass basic reading and math assessment

Skills & Traits

• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges
• Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
• Ability to work any shift, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Commitment to safety, accuracy, and reliability
