The Arc Shop Lab Supervisor / Metallographer will be responsible for working with Operations, Maintenance, Scheduling, and other Technical Services personnel in the Melt Shop to improve processes and reduce costs.

Continuous Improvement & Process Support

• Work with Melt Shop to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities in throughput, yield, safety, and other key areas.
• Lead or participate in teams addressing these issues.
• Function as the primary resource in application of improvement methods.
• Champion the concept of Continuous Improvement in assigned area through application of appropriate Quality tools.
• Supervise Melt Shop Observers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Candidates interested in this role should have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy from a four-year college or university is preferred.
• Two to five years of experience.
• Excellent computer skills, including experience and competence in Microsoft Applications.
• Mechanical aptitude and/or sound understanding of metallurgical and metal refinement processes required.
• Must be capable of handling multiple tasks and priorities.

The Arc Shop Lab Supervisor / Metallographer must balance quality demands with an unwavering commitment to safety, staying calm and clear-headed when issues arise mid-shift.
