Position Overview

Support District leadership by performing functions that generally do not require the same level of discretion and independent judgment as those handled by an exempt professional. Duties may include, but are not limited to, performing specific youth recruiting tasks as assigned or performing specific fundraising-related tasks as assigned. Also, in consultation with a supervisor, this position may direct the work of certain support committees.

This role specifically WILL NOT have direct responsibility for any governance committee, such as the District Key 3 or the nominating committees. This individual may or may not be working toward a District Executive role.

Responsibilities
  • Achieve program-specific goals and objectives, which include program development through collaborative recruitment, training, fundraising, membership recruitment, and retention.
  • Secure adequate financial support for the program in assigned areas. Achieve net income and participation objectives for assigned camps and activities.
  • Collaborate with adult volunteers and oversee the achievement of training for their respective roles.
  • Recruit leaders for finance campaign efforts that meet the financial needs of the organization.
  • Provide quality service through timely communication, regular meetings, training events, and activities.
  • Maximum thirty (30) hours per week.
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED
Qualifications
  • Must be willing to accept and meet Scouting America’s leadership and membership standards and subscribe to the Scout Oath and Law.
  • Attained 21 years of age or older unless prohibited by any applicable law.
  • Ability to work varied hours when necessary, evening activities, and weekend work are frequently required to achieve positive objectives.
  • Ability to travel for training at least once a year for one to two weeks.
  • A Scouting background is helpful but not required for employment.
  • Offers for employment are subject to criminal, reference, and motor vehicle background checks.
