Medical/Surgical - Med Surg RN - Travel Nurse

We are seeking Medical/Surgical RNs for an immediate travel nurse opening in Peoria, IL. The ideal candidate has 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience.

• Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs.
• Perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician.
• Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients and families.
• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre‑ and post‑operative patients.
• Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examination and treatment.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans as prescribed by the physician.

Requirements*: BLS, NIH, 2 Years.
* Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.

Physical requirements:

Ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend/lean/stoop without difficulty. Must lift up to 20 lbs routinely; up to 50 lbs may be required. Work in a fast‑paced environment with patients that may be confused or uncooperative.
