Overview

Illinois Cancer Care is seeking a full-time Float Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our dedicated team. We are expanding our team of Advanced Practice Providers to enhance patient access and reduce scheduling disruptions, ensuring timely, high-quality care for every patient. Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities Clinical Care
  • Deliver expert oncology care including assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, and symptom management.
  • Manage acute and chronic conditions related to cancer and its treatments.
  • Perform procedures such as bone marrow biopsies and manage oncology emergencies.
  • Provide care at satellite clinics with autonomy and physician collaboration.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and side effects.
Collaboration & Communication
  • Serve as a key liaison between patients, families, physicians, and clinic staff.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EMR systems.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case reviews.
Education & Leadership
  • Develop and deliver educational programs for patients, families, and staff.
  • Mentor nursing staff and contribute to continuing education initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Lead APP to identify and address knowledge gaps.
Program Development & Advocacy
  • Direct strategic planning of Advanced Practice Provider Program to promote continued growth and value to the practice.
  • Advocate for the role of APPs within the organization and the broader healthcare community.

Qualifications Nurse Practitioner (NP)
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing program.
  • Successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current RN licensure and registration with the State Board of Nursing in Illinois.
  • Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
  • 1–3 years of post-MSN experience preferred, ideally in oncology or a related specialty.
Physician Assistant (PA)
  • Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Current state license as a Physician Assistant in Illinois.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
  • 1–3 years of clinical experience preferred, ideally in oncology or a related specialty.
Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing program.
  • Successful completion of a Clinical Nurse Specialist program.
  • Current RN licensure and registration with the State Board of Nursing in Illinois.
  • Current state licensure as a Clinical Nurse Specialist.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
  • 1–3 years of post-MSN experience preferred, ideally in oncology or a related specialty.
