Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgery unit position in Illinois, requiring an IL RN license and experience with Epic charting and Level 1 Trauma cases.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Surgery department of a hospital setting

• Day shifts from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, four days per week

• Assignment length is 13 weeks

• Patient population includes surgical patients in a Level 1 Trauma environment

• Use of Epic EMR is required

• Responsible for caring for a group of patients and implementing the nursing process

• Expected to update and maintain accurate documentation for healthcare team use

• Completes initial assessment and develops and implements plans of care based on patient needs

• Must adhere to unit and hospital safety protocols and incident reporting procedures

• Cannot work continuously at any Carle Health location for more than one year; a six-month break required before returning

• Maximum of 7 days RTO allowed per 13-week contract

• No travel partners accepted

• Scrub requirements will be provided upon hire

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license (temp license accepted) in good standing

• Minimum of one year relevant nursing experience required

• Three years of relevant nursing experience strongly preferred

• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required

• Associate degree in Nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred

• Epic EMR charting experience required

• Level 1 Trauma experience required

• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility (no locals accepted)
