  • Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM 7:00 AM), 3 shifts/week
  • Guaranteed

    Hours:

    36 hours/week
  • Weekend Requirement:
    Every other weekend (Saturday & Sunday)
  • Holiday Requirement:
    Every other holiday
  • Charting System: EPIC
Registered Nurse Qualifications
  • Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license or proof of application in process
  • BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent neuro nursing experience (neuro unit)
  • Level 1 trauma center experience required
  • Previous travel nursing experience (no first‑time travelers)
  • Proficient with heparin titration and PTT‑based drips
  • Ability to float to general medical‑surgical units as needed
Neuro RN Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients with neurological diagnoses (stroke, spine surgery, seizures, brain tumors, head injuries)
  • Monitor and titrate heparin drips and other neuro medications
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including charge nurses, house supervisors, and patient care techs
  • Participate in scheduled weekend and holiday rotations
  • Float to other hospital units as required, within competency
  • Document patient care accurately in the EPIC electronic health record system
  • Comply with hospital policies, including dress code and drug‑free campus requirements
