Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position requiring Level 1 trauma and Epic charting experience in Illinois.

• Work in a hospital-based Med/Surg unit with a focus on respiratory and general medical patients
• Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:30am, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Level 1 trauma environment
• Uses Epic EMR;
  Epic charting experience required
• Floating requirements not specified
• Responsible for providing direct patient care, assessments, and care plan development according to unit standards
• Expected to utilize current nursing trends, technology, and collaborative communication with the healthcare team
• Up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care is required
• May be required to modify care plans and implement new interventions based on ongoing patient evaluation
• Must adhere to safety protocols and actively participate in creating a safe environment for both patients and staff
• RTO (requested time off) is limited to a maximum of 7 days per 13-week contract
• Previous Carle Health contingent workers may not continuously work for more than one year and must take a 6-month break before returning
• No travel partners accepted for this contract
• Compliance documentation deadlines are firm and must be met prior to start date

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing; temporary licenses accepted
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Minimum of one year relevant Med/Surg nursing experience
• Documented Level 1 trauma experience is required
• Experience charting in Epic EMR is required
• Associate’s degree in nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (no locals accepted)
