Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in General Surgery, Gynecology, Urology, and ENT. License:
Active Illinois RN License or confirmation that application process has been initiated.

Certifications:

BLS (Basic Life Support) required. Must-Have:
Two years of General, Gynecology, and Urology experience.

Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system is required. Experience in a facility with similar OR size within the last two years is preferred. Scrubbing experience is required.

Description:

The position involves working in the Operating Room with a focus on general surgery cases. Common cases include laparoscopic cholecystectomy, colon procedures, appendectomy, cystoscopy, DaVinci robotic cases, hysterectomy, vascular surgery, ENT, and urology. The unit has an average of 20-40 cases per day. You will be required to work with a Charge Nurse who assists with cases and collaborate with surgical technologists in the OR.

Shifts are scheduled as either 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM or 12:30 PM to 11:00 PM to achieve 36 or 40 hours per week based on contractual obligations. You will need to be available for weeknight call requirements once per week. Call response time is expected to be within 30 minutes. There may be a requirement to float to other surgical teams or surgical preparation and delivery if qualified.

Client-provided scrubs are mandatory to wear. Orientation specific to the unit will be provided as needed.
