American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a Women's Care Unit position on night shift, requiring 2 years of Med/Surg experience and an active IL RN license.

• Acute care setting within a Women's Care Unit (Med/Surg)
• 18-bed unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Patient population includes hysterectomy, mastectomy, and postpartum (mom's only) patients, along with general medical/surgical cases
• Uses EPIC EMR
• 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM
• 4 weekend shifts required per schedule period
• Holiday coverage required as part of core staff rotation
• No call or standby requirements
• May float to other general medical units
• 1 Charge Nurse per shift and a House Supervisor available each shift
• PCT support available at a ratio of 1 PCT per 12 patients, 2 PCTs for more than 12 patients
• RNs required to titrate heparin and insulin drips
• CPAP respiratory equipment used on the unit
• Heart monitors used occasionally, but RNs are not required to read telemetry strips

• Active IL RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required
• 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Experience with NG tube placement, foley catheter placement, blood administration, and heparin/insulin drip management required
• Must be able to produce a negative drug screen for all panels

• Provide direct nursing care to postpartum, gynecological, and general medical/surgical patients
• One shift of unit-specific orientation provided, with potential for additional shifts based on need
• Scrubs of any color permitted
• Local candidates welcome, with reduced rate applying to those within 50 miles of the facility
• No radius restriction for eligibility
• RTO must be submitted at time of consideration
