Description Information

$15 - $20 per hour

3-4 nights per week (4pm start time)

Part time with 10-20 hours per week

Accrued PTO, 401K Match after 30 days.

Position Summary

The Security Guard provides AM/PM security to HHS locations, in accordance with the Heartland Health Services (HHS) mission, strategic goals, federal and state laws and regulations, performance and outcome objectives, and accreditation standards.

Essential Functions
  • Provides morning, afternoon, and evening security coverage to HHS campuses.
  • Patrols and monitors assigned area; reports suspicious activities to senior leadership and local authorities as needed.
  • Occasionally escorts employees to building entrances or vehicles during peak shift times to ensure safety.
  • Contacts law enforcement or fire department in case of an emergency.
  • Escorts trespassers, unruly patients, discharged employees, and other unwelcome partis off the premises, as necessary.
  • Back up to corporate Courier.
  • Supports clinic compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and HHS rules, regulations, protocols, and procedures governing the clinical provision of medical services as well as those relating to, but not limited to, workplace safety, public health, and confidentiality.
  • Works in consultation with clinical teams, direct clinical support staff, and indirect clinical support staff to develop and implement policies and procedures that maximize patient-centered communication and services.
  • Attends all staff meetings, department meetings, and any other meetings as required.
  • Maintains the strictest of confidentiality.
  • Performs related work as required.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous security, police/public safety, military experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to patrol the properties and access areas quickly.
  • Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to deescalate patient concerns at site.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills.
  • Ability to organize tasks and time to ensure timely completion of all projects.
  • The ability to work with physicians, staff and professionals in multiple settings and locations.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Access to a personal vehicle, a valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently in carrying out duties.
  • Any combination of experience, education, or training that would provide the level of knowledge, skill, and ability required is acceptable.
